Mustafi wants to learn from Boateng and Hummels

Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi plans to use the international break to learn from team-mates Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels.

The Bayern Munich pair are expected to start Germany s World Cup qualifier against Czech Republic on Saturday, with Mustafi providing cover.

Mustafi, who joined Premier League side Arsenal from Valencia during the recent transfer window, says he is inspired by what Boateng and Hummels have achieved.

I look up at Jerome and Mats, he told reporters. They have proven themselves in the national team and they are now also playing together in the club.

They have won a few titles between them and I can learn from them.

But given the quality of our player here, I can always learn when I am with the national team.

Real Madrid loanee Vallejo working for Bernabeu dream

Jesus Vallejo hopes his impressive spell on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt will be rewarded with the chance to represent Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Vallejo joined Madrid from Real Zaragoza in July 2015 and was sent back on loan to the second tier side for the following season.

The 19-year-old defender is spending the 2016-17 campaign at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he has made 16 Bundesliga appearances – 14 as a member of the starting XI.

Vallejo is being monitored closely by his parent club and hopes to do enough to warrant a place in Zinedine Zidane s side when he returns.

On the day, when I signed, they told me that they ll keep an eye on me and it has been so. They come to see me in person, they call me I m grateful because it is the recognit…

Bologna 1-1 Juventus: Milik strike ends losing run but Bianconeri held

Juventus missed the opportunity to go second in Serie A as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Bologna on Sunday.

Second-placed Lazio were beaten 3-1 by Inter earlier in the day, yet Riccardo Orsolini smashed home a first-half penalty at Renato Dall Ara to leave Juve fearing a fourth straight league defeat.

Those concerns were not helped when Arkadiusz Milik missed a chance to level from the spot, but he brilliantly fired in after the interval to deny Bologna a first Serie A win over the Bianconeri in 22 attempts.

Juve remain below Lazio and crucially just three points ahead of Inter, Milan and Roma in fourth, fifth and sixth, and they face a real dogfight over the final six games if they are to finish in the Champions League places.

Balasz Dzsudzsak on Lazio radar

Serie A high-flyers Lazio are readying summer bid for Dynamo Moscow winger Balasz Dzsudzsak, according to Il Messaggero.

The Bianconeri aim to lure the Hungarian to Stadio Olimpico and hope he would form a great wing partnership with Felipe Anderson, in which case Antonio Candreva would be moved to the centre of the park.

With Dzsudzsak s current deal due to expire in December this year, it is believed an offer in the region of €4 million would prove sufficient.

The 28-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, having managed 5 goals and 7 assists in 18 league outings.

Dzsudzsak began his career with Debrecen, but it was at PSV Eindhoven that he made a name for himself, scoring impressive 41 goals in 97 Eredivisie appearances.

Smalling backs United pair to shine

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling believes Adnan Januzaj and Jesse Lingard can force their way into the first team this season.

Both Januzaj, 18, and Lingard, 20, have shone in United s pre-season fixtures with the pair scoring in David Moyes side s 5-2 win over Kitchee SC on Monday.

Now Smalling, who has established himself in the setup at Old Trafford since moving from Fulham for £7million in 2010, has backed the duo to feature regularly in Moyes first season at the helm.

They have taken their chance,” he told the club s official website.

It’s good that the manager has given these young players a chance and they have really taken their chances.

´He will be here for sure´ – Mourinho rules out Shaw exit

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho ruled out selling Luke Shaw at the end of the season despite the left-back s struggles for game time.

Shaw, 21, has made just seven Premier League appearances for United this campaign, leading to speculation over his future.

But Mourinho wants the England international to remain at Old Trafford, insisting he had no plans to sell Shaw.

No, no, no. He will be here for sure, that is out of the question, the Portuguese tactician said.

Shaw may get his next opportunity when United visit Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Mourinho said the defender, who suffered a horrific broken leg in September 2015, knew what he needed to work on.

He had a very ugly injury, really ugly, that affects players not…
